The Israeli Ministry of Education

The Partnership Between the MOE and Ofanim

In response to this crisis, over the last few years, the Israeli Ministry of Education (MOE) created a number of STEM programs.  They were successful in the wealthier center of the country, but not in the periphery.  In 2019—considering strong
endorsements from the communities we served, and our metrics--the MOE selected Ofanim to lead its national informal STEM education in the periphery. We completed a successful pilot program in six communities.

After One Year...

In July we were able to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Education to discuss our pilot year. Everyone was impressed with the program including, "We have worked with dozens of organizations, on projects on a different scale, beyond my personal opinion, the staff in the office tells me, we have never encountered such a quality of human capital as there is in Ofanim. A combination of expertise, professionalism, flexibility, and determination, conduct."

"Listen, I'm not surprised. As we progressed with the pilot, and responses began to arrive from the field, I gained more and more confidence about the importance of investing in the “mental axis” among our target population. But it was a feeling, a working assumption, and sometimes our assumptions are wrong ... but in no scenario did I imagine that after a few months of piloting, suddenly the heads of authorities would call me,
everyone just wants to work with Ofanim"- Mohana Fares

"Only now do I understand what is this excellence that you want all the time from my son?"- Mother from Mashad
